Vegas Hiking Tour FAQs
Roundtrip transportation from your location/hotel is provided as part of the cost of the tour.
During the summer months (Late April- early October) short sleeves, breathable active wear, and a hat to shade you from the sun. During the winter months (Nov-April) long sleeves, active wear pants, and a light sweater. You’ll want to feel comfortable and feel mobile. Hiking shoes are always the preference but most sport shoes will suffice IF you have strong ankles.
If you have your own backpack, great. If not, we will provide a loaner. We also provide water for everybody and I will have some extra power bars. You will be asked to carry your own water in your pack.
There are not meals provided, so suggest loading up on food about an hour before your pickup time, not right before as that may cause sluggishness, bringing snacks such as apples, powerbars is recommended.
We'll coordinate on weather situations, I check the forecast daily and will assess. If the weather does not permit a hike, you will have the choice of a 100% full refund, or rescheduling. Fortunately, the weather out here is most often quite pleasant.
We prefer to keep the tours private, to groups of people who already know each other. That said, there may be a scenario when we would ask two separate groups if they are ok with and would like to go with some strangers-only if all parties agree would we conduct a tour like this.
Peruse through the various tours.. If you’re worried about intensity level or have other questions we are happy to discuss any questions or concerns you might have.
We give approximate times in the description. Everyone is different and we will move at a comfortable speed.
Absolutely! Call or e-mail us and we will make sure you get the kind of tour you are looking for.
Maybe, maybe not... Bighorn sheep, desert tortoise, jackrabbits, lizards etc. are all on their own schedule. Realistically, the odds are relatively low but you never know either! The only way I can guarantee this is if you go to the Strip at 2 AM on a Saturday night. 😊
As hell... in the summer months, generally June through August, with last half of May and first half of September also being quite warm. I will not guide a hike in any location where the temperature is forecast to be above 85 degrees Fahrenheit, it's not worth it! This may mean doing early morning or later evening hikes in the summer months, or heading up to higher elevations.
Although you are required to sign a waiver and there is no 100% safety anywhere in life including walking down the street, safety is my # 1 concern and we will be careful. I also rely on you, my customers, to tell me when you are not comfortable doing anything, these are meant to be 'within your comfort zone' hikes, not an extreme 'push the limits' tour.
I carry a first aid kid and am CPR and First Aid certified. IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS AT ALL, WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THEM PRIOR TO THE HIKE! We do not want to jeopardize anybody.
If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance and booked directly with me via this website, you will be fully refunded. If you did not book directly through this website, you will need to go to whoever you booked with and check their policy.
